Uganda

You all know what this will be about. Let it be clear that Uganda is not the only country which would like to see homosexual men die, there are plenty of those; the rage is on, for Uganda, because it is mutating justice to fit this urge to torture and murder gays.

Sweden, sensible as they are, has responded to this Ugandan law-in-the-making, with the threat of stopping all aid to the country if it passes. Personally, I'm in a bit of a humanitarian conflict. On one hand the Ugandan people need help in the form of primary human needs. On the other hand, the Ugandan people are hating gay people. So do they still deserve our help? I know I'm cutting all ties with Islamic countries. I don't care whether they all die or not. It's a f*cking cesspit of dumbsh*ts who rely on foreign aid to sustain themselves, while they just keep on shooting eachother, making more HIV+ babies and preaching homophobia. Can you say bottomless pit?

Of course the Netherlands will not respond to this, or at least not within the next two weeks. We are much too afraid to hurt people's feelings, no matter whether they are the enemy or not. Perhaps Geert Wilders will say something, but he isn't a real politician so that wouldn't count. If I were the president of this country, I'd cut all ties with Uganda. There'd be economic and military embargo's against that stinking black mark on the face of the earth. Don't discuss, act. If countries want 1st world welfare, they'd better adopt 1st world ethics first. I don't want to see the fruits of my labour going to a people which exists only to serve their most primal instincts. Uganda is not beautiful nor diverse, so what exactly is its value to humanity?

I say collect the whole bunch, sterilise them by gas-poison and stop immigration. In a year or 40, because Ugandans don't get much older, we can turn it into a huge wildlife preserve. Or perhaps build an ASMHC*. And experiment with fusion power, and more of that sci-fi stuff.

Uganda is a problem for humanity, same as Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Benin, Bhutan, Botswana, Brunei, Burma, Burundi, Cameroon, Cook Islands, Cyprus, the Congo, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guinea, Guyana, Iran, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Liberia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Swaziland, Syria, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Western Samoa, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and the part of the USA that is military personnel, (and there are more). These are problems, because they deny the rights of gays, not just to marry or adopt - such a list would probably be twice as long - but even to make love.

Tragic as that thought is, it is stupefying to realize that this is real. I guess it must be about half of the world's population that has to fear, not only the gay-bashers that every country still has, but also the authorities. There is no protection for these gay men, who unfortunately were born in one of the countries listed above, or one of the few I have missed; but to hide forever, or run. It tears me up to even imagine what it must be like to have to fear for your life, just because you were born destined to fall in love with another man. Countries which deny the rights of gay people, deserve no respect; let alone sovereignty. Any 1st world country is in the right to invade countries populated with barbarians, to forcefully insert some humanity into their back ends.

Humanitarianism should be expansionist by definition.

As an advocate of a politically neutral Swiss-style foreign policy, my response is do not intervene in Uganda directly, but encourage nations that are tolerant towards homosexuals to grant asylum at their embassies in Uganda to Ugandan citizens who declare themselves to be gay.

The U.S. during the last several decades has even granted asylum to transgender people from Mexico (mostly biological males that live as females) who complain of constant police harassment and discrimination in employment. Both are genuine problems, although these days the situation is not that severe in most major cities.

If it weren't for Uganda having been poisoned by Christianity, there probably wouldn't be any homophobia there, being that homosexuality has never been known to be taboo among traditional indigenous African tribal peoples.

It really seams the most distinct trait of the Abrahamic religions; xenophobia.

At first I thought you were being a little extreme, then I saw what you were doing.

What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander!

My thinking about the advanced homophobia in Africa is that it seems to be a comination of several factors. First there is the stigma of colonialism/Christianity, which African men say is emasculating. Then, on top of that, there is stigma and shame of AIDS. When AIDS first struck the gay population in America, it was open season on gays. The Africans have simply gotten around to scapegoating the gays.

I agree stop the aid we give them. Until the realize that the money won't come unless they soften their tone about gays

It is amazing that today there are still such barbaric countries.. USA included.

What a horror it must be to be a gay man in one of these countries.

also:
the aid that we give to countries like that does not end up helping the people who need it: it just gets dumped in the pockets of those in power enabling them to build palaces, buy arms, suppress the masses even further.
Also working on alternative energy is not only good for the environment but also prevents us from needing to buy oil from the homo murdering ayatollahs in Iran
