Merry Christmas!

Perspective on government

As my blogging history (way beyond the birth of this; my third; blog) tells: I am a socialist, maybe even a communist. Obviously communism is completely ridiculous and hardly considerable. However, my perspective on all-day life is very communistic, and I'd say that's just the way it is. I love the thought of actual communism, the fantasy that it really is. It seems the perfect state for me, absolutely beautiful to work without the thought of the paycheck. Working with the thought that you're making society better, instead of yourself.

We are all humans and we all love this thing we invented called "civilization". Now, civilization is a gathering of a bunch of people that all have the same culture, also, we use civilization to separate us form the beasts: after all, we have created great things like Guinness, Medicine, Guinness, Music and Porn. -and Guinness. Civilization is a gathering of people, trying to make things better for each other by serving and being served. That is the core of communism, but serving your country solely in exchange for the profits that society gives, doesn't work for most people.

There are two main streams in civilization: on one very lonesome side the people that understand the above and are so stupid to believe in the good of people: better known as communists. They believe people would be willing to work for the services they receive for it without the regulator that a currency is. Direct trade is the best example of this, but without money regulating the system, as in capitalism, a huge governmental force is needed to control everything. We usually don't like that and that's why all attempts to construct a communist state have failed horribly and with plenty of collateral damage (as the Americans call it). And no, China is not a real communist state, it's just run by parties that call themselves communistic. It might even be the most capitalist state in the world.

The other group is much larger, actually one might call the communists a lunatic fringe of the common people who are all capitalists. Obviously capitalism works great, apart from the fact that it uses the initial evil in man to work (Greed); as we can see in all day life in all more advanced civilizations. However: the free market economy has it's downsides. The government needs to keep it on a tight leash because otherwise it will become hell on earth. Capitalism is the survival of the fittest, only the fit get the money; only the fit get the great life. All that are less able, stupid or otherwise incapable to get a good job fall down the ladder and end up with simple jobs that pay like sh*t... And; "there is more to life than money;" is the most stupid thing you could say. Sure money doesn't buy everything, but it is the greatest necessity in our eternal quest for (more) happiness.

That's why the government was invented, to streamline our civilization, keep our less valid fellow countrymen in a human-worthy environment, and protect that which is mandatory for our civilization to maintain functioning at full throttle.

Privatization is the destruction of parts of this control, like the privatization of the railways. It is rubbish to say that the market economy makes prices drop: any profit the government makes is profit for everyone, because the government is us (at least in Democracy). Rivalry only brings corruption and therefore makes the entire community bleed. We've already lost our railways to the free market beast, and are struggling to keep health care in government hands. After all, what will happen when capitalistic businesses get their hands on our health? Will the poor be able to get medicines, or even just painkillers when we loose our collective control? What will we be required to pay when a company finds the cure for cancer? How many millions won't be able to pay for it?

There is something to say for the free market: it does create. It creates jobs, but most of all: invention. New, better things, make more money. More money is what capitalists want to hear, and if it comes to that we are all guilty of capitalism. War also has this strange effect to bring great inventions, like rocketry and nuclear power. However the government could also research new technologies, medicines, etc. without war or rivalry: so capitalism wouldn't be that necessary-

-If it weren't for that darned greed that we humans posses. Sure it's only natural, but God does it bother me. Like that famous John Lennon song said: "imagine no possession, I wonder if you can" it is absolutely impossible to not possess things. We want to possess, it gives certainty and wealth, and everyone likes that. It is a form of happiness.

So mainly I think we need the government to protect us from ourselves, from our greed and from running over the backs of those that are less fortunate. The government provides us with the basics to keep up our civilization: infrastructure, justice, emergency services (ambulance, firemen, police, military), international connections, welfare insurance, etc. We need our government to keep us from falling back to anarchy, which only destroys. It is impossible to live without government, it would be a barbaric world, the highest form of individualism. The big question that rises is: "would we be happy?" Sure some would be extremely happy, but others would be extremely unhappy. I bet we'd reinvent slavery.

I like civilization, so no thanks: no anarchy for me. The government is your friend, most of the time. We don't always feel that way, when we receive a parking ticket, but think of what would happen if it fell. We would loose all justice, all protection, and only the strongest would live a life worthy of a human being.

Bear Force 1

To be honest I really don't do music like this. However the following clip (at the end of the post) is so much fun to watch and actually has some wonderful "oldies" redone (that were covered by thousands before this day) that I just had to introduce you to:

Bear Force 1!
Um... no, the other kind of bears, the hairy dudes.
Yup, that's them! They're Dutch (of course), and they only sing in English: which is good because Dutch is a really bad language to sing in , and therefore most Dutch music sucks. Now, as you could have guessed, or would certainly have picked up on your gaydar is that all four men are gay. No hidden straight motives or whatever. They're really just 4 George Michaels without straight problems and with a little more 'Dutchism' in them. (I love the guy in yellow) They have a Christmas song as well, but I'll save you from that. Maybe, when I'm posting under the influence of alcohol next week, will you see it through this blog. They have a website, which you might want to visit: http://www.bearforce1.nl/ where you can "join the bearforce." Here's the clip, enjoy!

The List

First of all, some things I believe are true, they are philosophies: the products of my thought. You probably won't agree with all that stands below, and as always I am willing to discuss anything. Just remember that some things are my personal opinion, like someone prefers the color blue over red, I prefer red over capitalism (for an example).

There is no God, if there was, there would be no misery.

Homosexuality is not a sickness; it is an abnormality.

Violence is the greatest weakness in all of us.

Socialism is the best way to bring nationwide happiness.

We need culture, because culture is the key to the herd.
Only as a herd shall we prevail.

There are three kinds of evil: the foolish, the mentally ill
and the truly and horrifyingly demonic.

There is no such thing as a multi-cultural nation:
for it is not a nation.

Religion is really misjudged fascism.

Sex is disgusting, but also damn pleasant and
one of the most natural things to do.

It doesn't matter what skin color you have:
it matters what culture you represent.

Second, I'd like to say that I am sorry for not posting anything particularly interesting for a long period of time: as you can see I have been thinking (as I always do) but I didn't find the time or the will to post anything of some significance. With the Christmas holiday coming up I foretell you that a new interesting post will be coming in that period: and if Christmas comes before that post, I wish you a very, merry Christmas. To satisfy your -but mainly my own- taste for music, a song I love, from one of the very few dance music bands I like: Faithless.
